Mortgage Checklist

The following items are generally required in order to complete your application for a mortgage. Since time is of the essence with completing loan documents, it is necessary to have the most recent information to provide your mortgage broker. Although each time you work with a particular company, they may pull your credit, as long as it is within a 30-60 day window it will not adversely affect your credit to have numerous inquiries. i.e. It should not hurt you to shop around, as long as you do it quickly!

Each broker will need basically the same information so it will help you to have it prepared.


1. The Purchase Agreement for your new home (at least your price range);
2. The Purchase Agreement and Closing Statement on your current home (when applicable);
3. Completed, signed and dated uniform Residential Loan Application;
4. Signed and dated Borrowers Authorization Form;
5. Most recent pay-stubs of all borrowers;
6. W-2's for the last two years;
7. Signed 1040's (Tax Returns) for the last two years (with all attached schedules);
8. Two months of most recent Bank Statements;
9. Most recent stock portfolio statement;
10. Most recent Money Market Statement;
11. CPA letter if self employed;
12. Homeowner's Insurance Policy;

13. If applicable, Divorce, child support, alimony, rental agreements, pension, social security.
